Google Slashes Pixel 8 and Pixel 7 Prices in Major New Sale
As the Pixel 9 series begins shipping to eager customers, Google has launched a significant sale, clearing out its older stock, including the Pixel 7 lineup. This sale might mark the last opportunity to purchase the 2022 Pixel 7 directly from Google’s store.
In a recent end-of-summer promotion in the U.K., Google has applied discounts across the Pixel 7 series, Pixel 8 lineup, and the original Pixel Fold. The discounts are particularly attractive, especially if you’re planning to trade in your current device.

However, the trade-in values for these discounted devices don’t match the enhanced offers available for the Pixel 9 series. For instance, if you purchase the discounted Pixel 8 Pro and trade in your Pixel 7 Pro, Google will offer £247 ($324.58). On the other hand, during the pre-order period for the Pixel 9 Pro, Google offers a higher trade-in value of £387 ($508.55) for the same device. Similar discrepancies are seen with other models like the iPhone 13 Pro, which gets a £411 ($540.09) valuation when buying the Pixel 8 Pro, compared to £501 when buying the Pixel 9 Pro.
Google’s pre-order deals are ending soon, and they include perks like double storage at no extra cost, increased trade-in values, a free year of Gemini Advanced, and $350 in store credit when purchasing any new Pixel 9 device. If you miss out on these pre-order offers, don’t worry—Google has consistently reduced prices for the Pixel 8 series throughout the year, so there’s a good chance the Pixel 9 series will see similar discounts in the future.
The Gemini offer is also part of Google’s strategy to bring more users into its AI ecosystem, and there will likely be more deals to come. Earlier this year, Google bundled Nest Aware and Fitbit Premium with its Google One AI premium cloud storage tier, signaling its willingness to offer attractive deals to expand its user base.
